Husmann Wine Co. wines celebrate George Husmann, widely considered to be the father of the Missouri grape industry and one of our town’s most important historical figures. His storied career spans the mid-to late-19th century, during which time he published several works on viticulture, helped to save the European wine industry from a deadly phylloxera infestation and was a charter member of the Missouri State Board of Agriculture. In 1881 he headed to Napa, where he helped to establish California's grape and wine industry as well. G. Husmann Wine Co. wines reflect that heritage and history, blending wine from our Missouri vineyards with wine from our sister vineyards in California.
